License & Activation Policy

This Licence & Activation Policy applies to all digital products (software keys, activation codes, downloads) sold by Codes.ms (“we”, “our”, “us”). By purchasing and using a licence key, you agree to this policy and the applicable End User Licence Agreement (EULA) for the software.
1. Licence Grant
When you purchase a licence from our website, you are granted a non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, and non‑sublicensable right to use the software in accordance with the EULA and the specific product description (edition, device count, region). Ownership of the software remains with the copyright holder.
2. Licence Types
– Single‑User Licence: Permits installation and activation on one (1) device per licence key, unless otherwise stated on the product page.
– Multi‑User / Team Licence: Permits installation on multiple devices up to the number of seats specified at checkout.
– Enterprise / Volume Licence: Custom terms agreed in writing between the customer and Codes.ms.
– OEM / Device‑Locked Licence (where applicable): Tied to the first device on which activation occurs and may not be transferred.
– Retail / Transferable Licence (where applicable): May be moved to a new device, subject to deactivation on the old device and any limits set by the software publisher.
– MAK / Volume Activation (where applicable): Allows a limited number of activations as indicated in the product details.
3. Activation
Each licence key must be activated through the software’s official activation process (online or, where stated, offline telephone activation). An internet connection may be required for activation and periodic validation. Attempting to bypass, spoof, or manipulate the activation system is strictly prohibited and may result in suspension or revocation of the licence.
4. Licence Restrictions
You may not share, resell, rent, lease, sub‑licence, or publicly post any licence key without our prior written consent. Unauthorised duplication, reverse engineering, or modification of the software is prohibited unless explicitly permitted by applicable law or the software publisher’s EULA.
5. Re‑Activation & Transfer
If you change or upgrade your hardware, reinstall the operating system, or replace a device due to failure, you may request a re‑activation. Approval is subject to: (a) the licence type purchased; (b) the publisher’s transfer rules; and (c) our anti‑abuse checks. The number of re‑activations may be limited to prevent misuse. For retail/transferable licences, you must deactivate on the old device before requesting transfer.
6. Region, Edition & Compatibility
Some keys are region‑locked or restricted to specific editions/builds (e.g., Windows Pro vs Home; Office LTSC vs Microsoft 365). It is your responsibility to select the correct product for your region and system. If you are unsure, review the product page or contact support before purchase.
7. Licence Validity
– Perpetual licences remain valid indefinitely unless revoked due to policy or EULA violations (e.g., unauthorised sharing or fraud).
– Subscription‑based licences require an active subscription to remain valid. Lapsed subscriptions may disable features or access in line with the publisher’s terms.
8. Enforcement & Anti‑Abuse
We reserve the right to suspend or revoke any licence found to be used in violation of this policy, including but not limited to: sharing keys beyond the permitted device count, multiple simultaneous activations where not allowed, chargeback‑related abuse, or fraud. We may use fraud‑prevention tools, IP/geo checks, and activation logs to investigate suspected abuse.
9. Support & Remedies
If your key fails to activate, contact support within seven (7) days of purchase with your order number and any error messages/screenshots. After verification, we will provide troubleshooting, a replacement key, or a refund where replacement is not possible—consistent with our Refund & Return Policy.
